General terms and conditions of booking and sale

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING AND SALE

The Centre International de Sejour de Lyon (C.I.S.L.) Ethic Etapes CISL is a non-profit organisation.

To be eligible for C.I.S.L. services, all applicants must first join the Association. Booking secured by payment of a deposit implies acceptance of the general terms and conditions of booking and sale as stated hereunder.

ART. 1 - APPLICATION

  • Group rates are applicable for groups of at least 10 people.
  • The rates applicable for a stay are those stipulated on the booking form.
  • Half-board is compulsory for groups. The number of meals must be equal to the number of nights, but it is possible to have two meals on the same day.
  • The driver is granted one free "Bed & Breakfast" per 25 paying guests on this half-board basis.
  • Any overrun of the departure deadline is invoiced.
  • Prices are specified in euros and include VAT.

ART. 2 - BOOKING AND PAYMENT

Booking request must be sent in writing (letter or fax) and clearly state the identity and details of the requesting party.
  • The C.I.S.L. issues a reply stating its agreement in principle, which amounts to a provisional booking.
  • The booking becomes final on receipt of the deposit, which amounts to 30% of the cost of the stay, before the payment deadline stated on the booking form. After this deadline, if the deposit has not been received, C.I.S.L. will cancel the booking and not send a reminder.
  • The C.I.S.L. sends a booking confirmation and requests you to pay an instalment amounting to 60% of the cost of the stay 1 month before the starting date.
  • For bookings made less than 30 days before the date, 90% of the total payment for the stay will be requested before the starting date unless otherwise agreed with the C.I.S.L. beforehand.
  • The balance must be paid on receipt of the invoice.

ART. 3 - METHOD OF PAYMENT

Bank or postal cheque, in cash or by postal order.

Bank expenses are borne by the customer.

ART. 4 - ROOM HIRE

  • Rooms can be booked for private meetings and seminars. They can not be booked for public meetings with a public notice published in the press.
  • The C.I.S.L. reserves the right to change a room booking provided that an equivalent room is offered in replacement.

ART. 5 - DISTRIBUTION OF ROOMS

The C.I.S.L. cannot guarantee rooms for the same group on the same floors.

ART. 6 - CANCELLATION

Cancellations, whether full or partial, must be notified in writing (fax or letter).

FULL CANCELLATION MORE than 30 days before the arrival date : the deposit (30% of total cost) will be withheld and cannot be carried over to another stay.

FULL CANCELLATION LESS than 30 days before the arrival date : the deposit and instalment (90% of total cost) will be withheld.

PARTIAL CANCELLATION BETWEEN the 30th day and 24 hours before the arrival date such as reduction in duration of the stay, reduction in group number or services :

- beds not occupied invoiced at 80% of the price,
- rooms not occupied invoiced at 80% of the price
- from 10 meals cancelled, we will invoice 30% of the price of the meals.

PARTIAL CANCELLATION LESS than 24 hours before the arrival date :

- beds not occupied invoiced at 100% of the price,

- rooms not occupied invoiced at 100% of the price,

- meals not eaten invoiced at 100% of the price.

EARLY DEPARTURE

Any stay that has begun is payable in full.

ART. 7 - REHOUSING

In the event of force majeure or in unforeseen circumstances,  the C.I.S.L. reserves the option of accommodating some or  all the members of a group in a nearby hotel of equivalent quality without any change of rate.

ART. 8 - INSURANCE

The C.I.S.L. has subscribed a civil liability  policy with MAIF under policy no.905828.B to cover its members. This policy indemnifies its members for bodily injury within the scope and limits of the general terms and conditions of the agreement. Members are liable for their actions and any damage caused by the group or any one of its members.

ART. 9 - CLAIMS

The requesting party can take action against the C.I.S.L. for failure to perform, or poor performance of, the agreement by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt within a period not exceeding 8 days after the end of the stay.

ART. 10 - FORCE MAJEURE

The management of the C.I.S.L. reserves the right to cancel the booking in the event of force majeure or chance events compelling it to do so (strike, fire, water damage, etc.).

ART. 11 - ATTRIBUTION OF JURISDICTION

Any dispute regarding the validity, interpretation or performance of this agreement shall be solely settled by the courts where the C.I.S.L. is situated.
